Marion County Automotive Program Earns Nationally Recognized Certification

Vanguard High School’s automotive training program has received certification by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Areas of certification include brakes, electrical electronic systems, engine performance and suspension and steering.

To achieve this prestigious recognition, Vanguard’s automotive training program experienced rigorous evaluation by NATEF using nationally-accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities, and equipment. Upon completion of the evaluation, NATEF recommended Vanguard be certified by ASE. ASE is a national non-profit organization which tests and certifies repair technicians, in addition to certifying automotive training programs.

National certification increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders and gives added assurance Vanguard’s graduates will be employable as entry-level technicians. Vanguard joins Marion Technical Institute (MTI) and North Marion High as the only ASE-certified high school education programs in Marion County.

For more information, contact Vanguard Vocational Administrator Connie Hallick at (352) 671-4920, or visit www.natef.org or www.asecert.org.
