St. Johns County Teacher Wins Classroom Supplies from Office Max

Brian Francois, a seventh grade math teacher at Sebastian Middle School, was recently selected as one of the 1,000 teachers nationwide to be honored for “A Day Made Better.” Nominated by his Principal Kelly Battell and Assistant Principal Wanda Logan for exemplifying a passion for learning and innovative classroom techniques, Francois received $1,200 worth of supplies and classroom materials ranging from a digital camera and printer to paper, pencils, erasers and scissors for his students.

To recognize the efforts of teachers throughout the nation, Office Max and the non-profit organization Adopt-A-Classroom started “A Day Made Better,” which is a national initiative to help make at least one day better for educators; specifically by providing teachers with essential classroom supplies.

After both an internship and time as a substitute teacher at Sebastian Middle School, Francois is in his first year.
