FLVS Students Win 2007 Video World Affairs ChallengeThree Florida Virtual School students recently took on the issue of child labor and won a top award at the 2007 Video World Affairs Challenge. Katherine Kirk (Royal Palm Beach), Alyssa Rosenberg (Coral Springs), and Kelsey Reinertsen (DeLand) collaborated virtually to produce an award-winning video that documented how children are being exploited in a number of countries to support the global economy. The Video World Affairs Challenge, an international competition sponsored by the Center for Teaching International Relations at the University of Denver, encourages students to create short, academically-based videos about a global topic based on an overarching theme. This year’s theme was The Global Marketplace. View their video at: http://www.jumpcut.com/view?id=64DD68ACEEAA11DBA843000423CEF682 |
