McKitrick Elementary Principal Recognized As Florida’s National Distinguished Principal

Lisa S. Yost, principal of Yvonne T. McKitrick Elementary School in Lutz was selected as Florida’s 2007 National Distinguished Principal. Yost was nominated and selected by her fellow principals through a statewide search process conducted by the Florida Association of Elementary and Middle School Principals.

This is the 24th year that the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the U.S. Department of Education have presented this prestigious award.

A graduate of the University of Florida, Mrs. Yost has served as an elementary teacher, assistant principal and principal in several elementary schools in Hillsborough County. She has been the McKitrick Elementary Principal since she opened the school in 2001.
