Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries Awards Grants to Florida Schools

The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries recently announced that eight school libraries will be awarded grants of up to $5,000 to expand, update and diversify their library book collections for 2007.

Following are the Florida school recipients:

  • Whispering Winds Charter School, Chiefland, Fla.
  • Lacoochee Elementary School, Dade City, Fla.
  • Greenville Elementary School, Greenville, Fla.
  • Alta Vista Elementary, Haines City, Fla.
  • Biscayne Elementary Community School, Miami Beach, Fla.
  • Ivey Lane Elementary School, Orlando, Fla.
  • Lancaster Elementary, Orlando, Fla.
  • Pahokee Middle/Senior High School, Pahokee, Fla.

A total of 263 school libraries nationwide are being given the grant money for their school libraries. The mission of the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries is to support the education of our nation’s children by providing funds to update, extend and diversify the book and print collections of America’s school libraries.
