2008 Teacher Appreciation Week Newsletter

In thinking about what "Just for Teachers" could do to honor you during Teacher Appreciation Week, I approached many businesses throughout the state to ask that they partner with the Florida Department of Education to offer special discounts and promotions for Florida teachers. This year, more than 30 Florida businesses have extended special offers in celebration of Florida teachers and, in all, the list compiled contains nearly 50 state and national businesses offering discounts and promotions for educators. In addition, some of these businesses have extended these offers to School Resource Officers (SROs) and school staff.

Florida and the Nation Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week is being celebrated nationwide May 4 -10, 2008, and Florida is celebrating this week in a number of ways:

Governor Crist has issued a Teacher Appreciation proclamation to mark this week as one officially designated for appreciating you. View and print the proclamation: PDF Version Text Only Version.
Commissioner Eric Smith has written a letter of appreciation to all of Florida’s teachers. View and print the letter: PDF Version Text Only Version.
