Local Interagency Partnerships

  • Florida Business Leadership Network (BLN) – The BLN seeks to promote two primary personnel policies: diversity policies that include people with disabilities and hiring practices that target candidates with disabilities. The BLN is an employer-led venture of the US Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy that is sponsored in Florida by The Able Trust.
  • Partners in Transition (PIT) Teams - Spearheaded by the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, Inc. , the purpose and mission of PIT Teams is to implement at a local level the 4-year strategic plan created to “guide policymakers and practitioners in systematically addressing the major challenges and critical issues regarding transition services in the State of Florida.
  • Project Connect Teams - Project CONNECT is a statewide Transition initiative that focuses on improving interagency collaboration in Transition planning at the community level through the formation or reinvigoration of local community transition teams. The project is housed at the Transition Center at the University of Florida.
  • Transition to Independence Process (TIP) Sites - The mission of the TIP system is to assist young people with emotional and/or behavioral difficulties (EBD) in making a successful transition to adulthood with all young persons achieving, within their potential, their goals in the transition domains of education, employment, living situation, and community life.
