Introduction
The Florida Department of Education is committed to an education system where all students can learn and where we will continue to lead the nation in improving students' rates of learning. The Student Progression Planning Guide plays a vital role in aligning the strategies, standards, interventions, assessments, and guidelines for curriculum, instruction, and assessment that meet the State Board of Education's mission–to increase the proficiency of all students within one seamless, efficient system.
District student progression plans help to ensure that the required program of study, placement, promotion, reporting, retention, and assessment procedures are equitable and comprehensive, thereby providing accountability for all students. The purpose of this web-based guide is to assist districts in the revision and development of policies and procedures related to promotion and retention. The guide reflects current legislative requirements for student progression.
In our efforts to provide school districts with the implementation of statutory requirements related to student progression; technical assistance, publications, informative resources, and links are provided in this new web-based guide.
