Spring 2010 Participating Districts and Schools – Summaries and Pictures
In partnership with the Florida Department of Education's Food and Nutrition Management/Office of Healthy Schools, and the Florida Department of Health's Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, 46 schools have been selected to participate in the "Grow Healthy" - School Garden Project. Each garden kit contains:
- A supply of green bean, tomato, carrot, and lettuce seeds (approximately 20 of each type of seed)
- Four gardening tools
- A supply of sunscreen SPF 15
- A supply of grocery pads with fruit and vegetable images
- Gardening Angels How-to-Manual
- Our Generous Garden by Anne Nagro, a children's book presented in both Spanish and English, encouraging students to create a garden at their school filled with their favorite fruits and vegetables.
