HIV/AIDS in the News - Online Training Course for Teachers and School Nurses

The HIV/AIDS Prevention Education Program of the University of South Florida Healthy Schools Project/Florida Department of Education will offer a two hour online training course for teachers and school nurses entitled HIV/AIDS in the News: Update for Educators. The course will be offered free of charge through the Panhandle Area Education Consortium’s Florida Learns Academy. The course will run for three months September 14 – December 14, 2011. Created from a DVD developed and produced by the Florida Department of Health Bureau of HIV/AIDS, this course provides: general information regarding HIV/AIDS, prevention and transmission, Florida legal issues surrounding HIV/AIDS, and testing and treatment information. Upon successful completion of the course you can receive two hours of continuing education credit. West Florida Area Health Education Center (WFAHEC) will provide CEUs to nurses taking this course.
