HIV/STD Prevention, Teen Pregnancy Prevention and Sexual Health Education
The goal of the HIV/AIDS Prevention Education Project is to strengthen the provision of effective sexual health education in Florida. Our aim is to reduce instances of HIV/AIDS, STD, and pregnancy among our youth by provided the following:
- Technical assistance to districts regarding updating and creating sexual health education (including HIV/STD and pregnancy prevention) policy and curriculum.
- Training and professional development opportunities for parents, students, educators, school nurses, psychologists, social workers, and Department of Juvenile Justice staff offered through regional trainings and training tracks at various statewide conferences.
- Development and promotion of partnerships between state and local departments of health, school districts, and community-based organizations.
