Implementation of A++

Legislation

The 2006 Legislature passed House Bill 7087, An Act Relating to Education, more commonly known as A++. Governor Jeb Bush signed this bill into law on June 5, 2006. This legislation is a result of the tireless efforts that have been undertaken by many practitioners and policymakers to improve educational opportunities in the state of Florida. These efforts included several task forces, numerous public input opportunities, and meetings with practitioners. As technical assistance and other materials are available pertinent to this legislation, they will be posted on this Web site. Please check back often.

High School Majors

Download Files

  • District Download Files (State majors & courses, School majors & courses, etc.)

  • Download FACTS.org ePEP Course File - This file contains a complete download of ePEP planner information including student demographics, settings, planned courses, and major area of interest (MAI) selections. A new file is available the first Tuesday of every month (in May, the files are provided every Tuesday; files are not provided in August) at NWRDC for authorized users in the Bright Futures Directory, file name OB.DXnn.FACTS.EPEP.COURSES (where ‘nn’ is the school district number).

  • Download DOE Reconciliation File – This file compares the MAI information in the FACTS ePEP Course file and/or MAI information entered on a student’s transcript and returns the result. For example, if a student planned to take major 6111 in their ePEP, the reconciliation process will look to see if the student took any high school courses approved for major 6111, and returns the result of the comparison. This file is only available a few times a year, typically following when transcripts are sent, and posted at NWRDC in the Bright Futures directory: OB.DXnn.FACTS.RECON.date.

    *Both the FACTS.org ePEP Course File and DOE Reconciliation File can assist districts identify which majors students intend to use, however, it is the districts’ responsibility to capture this information and record it on student transcripts.
